Paul brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his role as the Lead for Strategic Initiatives at Ulnooweg Development Group. Joining the team in late 2015 as a Major Projects Officer, Paul’s dedication and leadership quickly propelled him to manage the Strategic Initiatives portfolio, where he focuses on fostering partnerships and relationships to enhance Indigenous participation in the Entrepreneurial and Innovation space. Before joining Ulnooweg, Paul’s career spanned various regions of Canada, working with territorial, provincial, and federal government development agencies. His recent stint in academia saw him lecturing on entrepreneurship and Indigenous economic development at Indigenous post-secondary institutions, enriching the next generation of business leaders with his insights. Paul’s expertise extends to impact benefits agreement negotiations, bringing a nuanced understanding of negotiating complex agreements that benefit all parties involved. A proud alumnus of Acadia University with a Bachelor of Business Administration, majoring in Finance, Paul’s educational background is complemented by additional coursework from the University of Waterloo in Community Economic Development and the University of Ottawa in Finance. He has also actively pursued seminars and workshops across various business topics to stay updated with the latest industry trends. In addition to his professional commitments, Paul is deeply involved in his community. He serves as an active member of several Chambers of Commerce, sits on the board of the Atlantic Chamber, and volunteers his time as a business advisor to four local organizations. Paul resides in Wolfville, NS, with his wife Cathy, and is a proud parent to two daughters, three granddaughters, and a grandson.
